Voix des Femmes Sans Frontières VFSF - Women’s Voices Without Borders International Forum promotes and develops professional women's voices in journalism by addressing human rights and climate change through a regional dialogue for peace and freedom of expression

To mark World Press Freedom Day, the first edition of Voix des Femmes Sans Frontières VFSF - Women’s Voices Without Borders Forum was held in Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan, on 3–4 May 2025.

The event brought together 60 women journalists, activists, and experts from the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe for two days of debate, training, and networking around the intersections of media, human rights, the environment, and emerging technologies.​

Grand Debates

​

These sessions highlighted the challenges and needs of women journalists to keep working in conflict zones and their key role in peacebuilding. The discussions also covered the climate crisis in Iraq and Kurdistan and the ethical issues raised by AI.

Led by VFSF trainees and alumni, the sessions featured personal testimonies and interviews amplifying women’s voices on social, cultural, and environmental transformation.​​
