ENVIRONNEMENTAL INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM
This specialised training is developed for professional women journalists with the aim of strengthening their investigative reporting skills while integrating environmental and climate-related issues into their journalistic work.

OBJECTIVES​
This workshop aims to build the capacity of professional women journalists to produce rigorous and impactful investigative reports on climate change and environmental issues in their region and country. It promotes independent and informed journalism, while integrating cross-cutting themes such as gender equality, human rights, and community empowerment.​

Requirements
-
Be a professional woman journalist
-
Have at least 3 years of professional experience in journalism or media
-
Have at least one published investigative article
-
Be fluent in Arabic (reading, writing, speaking)

Demonstrate interest in climate change, environmental justice, and human rights
-
Be fully available for the full-time programme
-
Have strong writing and reporting skills and be committed to producing high-impact content.

SUPPORT AND BENEFITS
By the end of the training, you will have developed and published a fully researched investigative report on a relevant environmental issue. You will be awarded a certificate of completion upon successfully finishing the training and your work will be showcased through AHJ’s regional and international platforms, enhancing your visibility and professional impact.

PRESENTATION OF THE TRAINER
Hanene Zbiss is a Tunisian investigative journalist and trainer. She won several international awards like Samir Kassir Award for Freedom of press (2014) and Raef Badawi Award for Courageous Journalists (2019). She was nominated for the Global Shining Light Award in 2015.
Mentor with ARIJ (Arab Reporters for Investigative Journalism), since 2013, she is also a member of the International Consortium for Investigative Journalism (ICIJ) and Environmental Investigative Forum (EIF).
She is very active in managing and coordinating training programs for Tunisian and Arab journalists in investigative journalism. She is teaching investigative journalism in the Press Institut and Information Sciences (IPSI) in Tunisia.
She is also the President of the Francophone Press Union's Tunisian Section (UPF).
She holds a master degree in Media Science and Technologies from the Mediterranean School for Advanced Studies, University of Pavia (Italy) and University of Tunis.
